Ty Dre Apartments

The food was so good I’d give it 100 out of 10 if I could. Everyone on the staff was friendly and helpful, and our room was spotless, spacious, and the best accessible hotel room we’ve ever stayed in. I’d entered the wrong date when booking, but they still found us a room with disabled access for my wife. Well done to everyone at The Black Boy Inn / Tŷ Dre town house.

We had a fabulous three-night stay, and the food was hard to beat. Breakfast is served at the Black Boy inn, which owns Ty Dre. Our rear-facing room had a huge bed, and there was even a little kitchen with everything equipped. The whole place was wonderfully clean and well kept, and the bathroom was in lovely, clean condition.

The room was very expensive, and the whole stay involved a lot of hassle. The heating was stuck on full, making the room incredibly hot, so I opened the windows and got woken by seagulls at 5am. An engineer came to fix it but left it broken in the off position, so it couldn’t be switched on. Some future guest could end up freezing.

Parking wasn’t as simple as I’d expected, though the staff tried their best to find me a space. You can get a free permit for the castle parking, but in my experience its entrance shuts at 5pm or earlier. In the bedroom, I had a really comfortable bed, a large bathroom and a useful kitchenette. The restaurant food was very good, though the starters were a bit too generous. It’s good value overall, and I’d stay again.
