YHA Snowdon Ranger

The rooms were all clean, and we had a great time here. The location and service were both great.

The views are breathtaking, and even as the coach driver rather than technically part of the group, I was well looked after by the management and staff during our five-day stay. Nothing was too much bother, and their local knowledge was a godsend at times. The food was delicious, and there was plenty of parking, even for a coach. Phone signal is very, very hit and miss, but that’s part of the beauty of the area. It’s a YHA, so the rooms are beds and a sink. Around here, you don’t need much more when you’ll be out enjoying the beautiful surroundings. I definitely advise everyone to stay.

The water pump kept me awake for most of the night, and the room was tiny, with just a bunk bed, sink and bedside cabinet. There was a small skylight that only opened partway. The shared toilets and showers next to the room were clean, but small. There was no phone reception at all, though luckily the WiFi worked. On the plus side, the location is amazing, with lovely views across the lake and great walks nearby. The staff were welcoming and gave great service, and they let me park my coach across the road for free.

A lovely weekend at Snowdon Rangers YHA. It was clean and well equipped. I would’ve liked the kitchen gas turned on at 7am rather than 7:30, though I understand why it’s off overnight. There’s no WiFi, but that’s an issue across the area, not just at the Hostel.
