The Highland Guest House

This excellent Bed & Breakfast is run by the former owners of the Waverley Hotel. It’s conveniently located just off the south end of Main St, and the prices are very reasonable for what you get. The service is excellent, and breakfast is a high-quality experience with plenty of extras you don’t find at other B&Bs.

That walk to Bracklinn Falls was a highlight, and the scenery was lovely. We were given the Arran and Jura Family Room at the top of the house, so there were extra stairs, but the view made them worthwhile. The room was clean, comfortable and nicely decorated, with a great shower and a bed we both slept well in. There were thoughtful extras in the hall too, including an iron and board, a fan, toiletries and extra tea and coffee. My husband brought me to Callander for two nights for our anniversary, and we really enjoyed it. The owners were friendly, and the guest house is just steps from the main street and shops. Breakfast had plenty of cereal, fruit, juice, jams and marmalade, plus a 24-hour coffee machine and a choice of cooked or lighter options. Jan gave us Callander Shortcake when we checked out, a lovely touch. Friendly town too, and we’d happily come back.

We had a twin room for two nights and it was really nice. Breakfast was lovely too, especially the scrambled eggs, some of the best I’ve had in ages. Just got back from Callander, and we’ll be back. Thanks so much!

Jan made us feel so welcome and was happy to help with anything. The room had sweet Highland Cow decor, and the whole place felt like a home away from home. Breakfast was generous and tasty, with non-dairy milk available. There was a lovely range of teas and a coffee machine you could use any time, day or night. We loved staying here and only wish we’d had longer.
