After wintry weather, the bright, colourful interior at Desh restaurant felt like a reminder of warmer days. We hadn’t planned to extend our time in Callander, but decided lunch would set us up for the evening. There was plenty of choice, and the food was freshly prepared, spicy, authentic in taste and served in good-sized portions. We were really impressed. A chat with an Asian couple celebrating their Wedding Anniversary and the friendly, attentive service made for an enjoyable afternoon.

The service really stood out. The staff were friendly, attentive and welcoming without rushing us, and everything arrived on time. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, great for a relaxed night out or getting together with friends. Food was delicious, nicely presented and full of flavour, with fresh ingredients. Drinks were expertly made and there was something for everyone on the menu. We’ll definitely be back.

A good base for day hikes in the Trossachs, right on the main street in Callender and close to the bus stop and trailheads. Our hosts were welcoming and helpful, and we had a delicious dinner at the attached Indian restaurant. The room was reasonably priced and had an ensuite bathroom and tea service. It was comfortable but utilitarian, and the bathroom could use some repairs and updating. Stayed Sept. 2025.

The room and bathroom were clean and comfortable, and we had an enjoyable stay. Staff were friendly and helpful. We didn’t try the restaurant, maybe next time.

We spent two nights and three days here, and found it a very comfortable place. It’s a perfect base if you want to explore the Highlands. The bar and restaurant are lovely, and the staff were very friendly and respectful. The room was comfortable, with bedding and all toiletries provided.
