Travelodge Camberley

The team running the hotel made me feel very welcome and nothing seemed too much trouble. I was staying while visiting a friend at Sandhurst, and the location was fantastic. It was good value for money, and the lack of comfort wasn't down to the staff's efforts, so 4 stars. Unfortunately, I visited during the most humid part of the year. There was no air conditioning in the room, which made it hard to get comfortable, though they did provide a fan and were clearly trying to help. My room was right over the main junction, and boy racers woke me several times at night with their exhaust noise, as if they were compensating for something.

The noise from some kind of machinery kept droning all night. I ended up trying to sleep on the bathroom floor because it was so loud, and woke with a really bad headache. An absolutely HORRENDOUS night.

I can't believe this place isn't at least a 3 star. The room was lovely, and the night staff were very friendly and helpful. The lady on reception last night was especially welcoming.

The breakfasts were the letdown. The quality is pretty basic, and the bacon was hard as leather with rind like jelly. It seems the best chefs are on at the weekend. Some rooms have been refurbished while others are still waiting, but both kinds have been comfortable and quiet. I've slept well in rooms over the shopping high street and the main road. The staff I met were friendly and helpful.
