Everything else about the hotel and pub was fine, but room 209 didn’t have the walk-in shower I expected from the online adverts. It had a high-sided bath with a shower over it, and getting in and out was difficult. I’m older but not infirm, and I don’t think this room should be let to anyone with even a slight disability. I couldn’t get my leg over.

Free parking takes some hunting, and the spaces are quite a way off. Apart from that, we had a wonderful stay. The room was spacious and very clean, with a modern shower and toilet. The location is ideal, with Aldi just across the road. I’d definitely recommend it.

The back yard is a nice feature, with flower baskets that look stunning when they’re in good shape. Inside, it’s a fairly large Wetherspoons with tables that aren’t packed too close together, and unusually, the toilets are on the ground floor. I’ve tried a few meals here, including pizza, curry and the mixed grill, which has since been discontinued. I really like this one, easily one of the best in Cornwall.

Camborne worked well as a base for exploring, and I enjoyed spending time in the town despite its issues. There’s a bingo hall, and the bus station is a great place to start exploring from, just a short walk from the hotel. I was so comfortable here that I added a couple of days to my stay. The hotel room was spotless, spacious enough to move around in, and had both a walk-in shower and a bath. There was plenty of water, tea and biscuits. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Although the hotel and pub share a building, they’re separate, so you don’t have to enter the pub. I did go in twice, once for breakfast and once for orange juice in the pretty back garden. It looked clean and well run, though I imagine it gets very busy at peak times. I had no problems at all and will definitely return. Thanks!
