For what I paid, this was better than expected. I needed a single room at the last minute, and the prices were very reasonable. The hotel's clearly dated, but has a cosy vintage feel, and both the room and hotel were clean. There's a nice conservatory for breakfast, with a lovely view over the river and park. Continental breakfast was included, simple but perfectly adequate. The central location was fantastic.

We had a super weekend and will definitely come back. A lovely young woman welcomed us at the hotel, and the room was clean. I saw some unfair reviews. To me, a hotel is a place to sleep and wash, and I don't go away to inspect curtains or decor. People may have different views about it being dated, but everything was clean. We had two steaks and a bottle of wine at the restaurant for £50, and the two young men who served us were really nice. The breakfast staff looked after us too, and we had no complaints about breakfast. For the price and location, it was worth every penny. Thanks for having us, five stars.

The bed was comfortable, and having parking on site was a bonus since not many places seem to offer it. We got a room beside the canal, with a nice view out towards Cambridge. It's an easy walk into town, and easy to reach from the A14. The room was a good size, though the TV was small. The place feels run down, and I doubt it was renovated this century. I get that they want to keep a traditional look, but the faded photos in old frames could be replaced without losing that feel. There weren't any plugs by the bedside tables, so I used a power bank relay to charge my phone. Breakfast was basic, and the full English costs extra. I suspect you can find it cheaper in Cambridge. The price we paid seemed about right, but I probably wouldn't come back if it cost much more.

The staff handled everything with real professionalism and were excellent to deal with. The food was tasty and good value, and the wedding anniversary dinner made the day thoroughly enjoyable and memorable. We were very happy with the event and would highly recommend this place.

A short walk through the park takes you into the city centre, and the hotel overlooks the River Cam. We had a few minor defects in the room and needed to ask twice for decaf tea bags. Breakfast was continental and adequate. There's no lift, and because we hadn't booked directly, parking wasn't free.
