We had a lovely afternoon here with our grandson, stopping in as walk-in visitors for drinks with family. It’s a quiet little gem away from Cambridge’s madness, in a lovely spot near the River Cam. There’s plenty of room in the bar for a pushchair, and the staff were welcoming and friendly.

Sitting outside beside the river on a warm day feels priceless. The historic atmosphere and delicious food make this peaceful spot feel special, and I always leave feeling calm and reset. It’s worth a visit for the setting, the food and that Cambridge charm. Once you find it, you’ll probably come back.

We had an amazing stay over Christmas, and I’d love to come back in spring or summer. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the rooms were nicely done and immaculate, with cleaning every day. Breakfast was a typical English meal, and everything was fresh.

We had a lovely three-night stay in April. Our ground-floor room was quiet and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the gym and pool, and the Peloton Bike was a nice surprise. Breakfast could have been better, but it was a great stay overall.

I left a pair of jeans in the room after a one-night stay and realised the same day. Staff said the jeans had been mixed in with the laundry and needed to be tracked down. I called several times over the next week and was told someone would get back to me. They asked me to email the details, which I did, but I’ve heard nothing since. Really disappointed with how they handled it. Awful service, wouldn’t recommend.
