The Mill Suites - Tas Accommodations

We had to wedge blankets under our doors because large flies were getting into the lobby and hovering outside other rooms. They first swarmed in one room through the bathroom vent, and the fire doors had a large gap at the bottom. I was there for my hen do for two nights last weekend, and it was a really disappointing stay. We told staff on the first morning, but when we got back that evening the problem still hadn't been dealt with, and my friend wasn't offered another room. She couldn't sleep in her own room at all. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

The flies got so bad in one room that the person staying there moved into another group member's room, which had a double bed, and it disrupted the whole group. What had started as a lovely trip became a nightmare. Only one room was refunded for one night, and nobody made an effort to fix the problem. We'd first thought we'd found a real bargain at tas suites on mill road. After the first night, one person found at least 10 flies in her room, flying around and gathering by a vent. She told reception, and they said they'd take a look, but nothing was investigated. By the second night there were 10x as many, in her room and all through the corridors to our rooms. I was very appalled and wouldn't return.

I slept well for all three nights, even with a little noise from other guests and the street. The location was the main draw for me, and the room was clean, though the carpet was old and stained and the mattress was worn and sloped. I’d probably come back, since the good sleep and location outweighed the downsides for me. The biggest inconvenience was having no public restroom. I had to wait at both check-in and check-out without access to a toilet. Reception staff were fine but nothing special, and the cleaning staff didn't seem very friendly. Still, I had a positive stay overall.

The room was a decent size, but the two mattresses were painfully uncomfortable, with springs digging into your back. They left a baby cot outside for me, but there was no mattress for it. The Wi-Fi was very poor too, so I can only give it one star.
