We had a wonderful three-night stay in a twin studio and will definitely be back. The centre location meant we could get around on foot, and the beds were very comfortable. We didn’t hear any noise, so it was super quiet. The lovely lobby smelled amazing, and we liked the decor and wooden furniture. Our cleverly laid-out studio had SMEG appliances, including a dishwasher, fridge, microwave, induction cooktop and extractor fan. It also had everything else we needed, from an iron and ironing board to a hair dryer, safe, coffee machine, dishware, placemat and kitchen towels. We skipped hotel breakfast but had drinks in the lobby one evening, and all the staff were welcoming and helpful. It felt like great value for money. A couple of things might be tricky for longer stays: there’s no wardrobe or drawers, just five hangers, and the lobby can get crowded at weekends, as other reviewers have mentioned.

Rooms are excellent, with very comfortable beds and a great eye for detail. The kitchenette would be a big plus for some, with a Nespresso machine, toaster, induction hob, pots and pans, dishwasher, microwave, cutlery and crockery. They’ve thought of everything. The bathroom was clean and spacious, with high-end extras, and the cafe was fabulous in every way. The whole hotel is clean and feels safe and calming, thanks to the decor. It’s a fantastic spot in the town centre without the noise. We parked at maddingley road park and ride, which is free for 18 hours and then about £10 per 24 hours. You can pay remotely on the Ringo app, and the bus stop is around 200m from the hotel, handy with bags. I’d absolutely recommend it as a Cambridge base for a longer stay or a nicer short break than the other standard hotels the city has to offer.

The room felt more comfortable than a standard hotel room, with lots of space to work, spotless new interiors and all the cooking equipment you’d need. The whole aparthotel feels fresh, and the lobby smelled lovely when we arrived. We had a great few days, helped by the very central location. The lounge was the main drawback. It’s a beautiful room, but one evening we counted 45 university students sitting in three big groups, and it gave the wider hotel a student halls feel. We hadn’t expected that, and there was corridor noise at 3am too. A few ground rules could make the shared spaces work better for different guests, such as limiting laptops in the lounge on evenings or weekends, as other places in Cambridge do, or offering a separate bar or common room. Some staff also seemed inexperienced, for example, they didn’t know the drinks menu, and didn’t seem confident asking the large groups to be more considerate.

The people here made our week in Cambridge especially memorable. Front desk and cafe staff were professional, kind and caring, and seemed to really want us to have a good stay. They worked well together, too. Special thanks to Kiki, Cath, Albert & Ashika, and everyone else. We hope to return soon. We’re working remotely while travelling, and this is one of the best places we’ve stayed. The hotel is brand new, clean and comfortable, with lovely design throughout. The cafe/restaurant is cozy and beautiful, and the food and drinks were great. Our room was comfortable, well equipped and had everything we needed. It’s easy to walk to the main sights, and the location is hard to beat. There’s a connected car park, but it belongs to another company and is ridiculously expensive. Castle Hill, about a 10-minute walk away, is much cheaper.

We were given a complimentary upgrade, and check-in was quick and easy. The staff were so welcoming. We didn’t try the mini shop or bar/restaurant, though they all looked lovely, so I’d be happy to come back and give them a go. The rooms were spacious, quiet and comfortable, with everything provided. It’s a beautiful building in an amazing location. Only good things to say about our stay in Cambridge.
