The breakfast was quick to come and clearly made with fresh ingredients. There were cereals, fruit juices and unlimited fresh tea or coffee, plus a cooked menu with plenty of options. The price is very reasonable for what's included, and compares well with the hotel and motel chains that rarely offer the friendly human touch the Earadale gives you. The hotel is on a quiet, narrow street one back from the harbour. My first impression was the bright, clean front door and good lock, followed by a warm, friendly welcome and someone showing me to my room. Everything looked spotless. The decor is simple and tasteful, in light colours that few people would dislike and most should enjoy. My room was airy and warm, too warm for me at over 20 deg C, but easy to fix by turning off the radiator. In a cold snap it would be cosy. There were plenty of hangers and good supplies for tea, including green and herbal varieties, coffee and luxury chocolate. I heard nothing from other guests, and hardly any street noise even with the window ajar.
