We had a lovely break at Alberta in a nice, clean site, staying Monday to Friday in a gold three-bedroom caravan. Whitstable is a beautiful town with several shops, and we visited a lovely castle there. The staff we met were all friendly. Ellie from the entertainment team was lovely and did a great job keeping the kids entertained. Parking was a bit of a problem. The club was nice but didn’t have much on, and we saw just one duo all week, which wasn’t the best. The arcades had lots of broken machines, and food in the club seemed expensive. There’s a chip chop and a Chinese takeaway nearby. I’m not sure I’d stay here again.

We paid £7 a day for passes to use the park facilities after booking privately through booking . Com. On our first night, after a long drive, we went to the clubhouse for food and were told the chef had walked out, so there was nothing to eat. My three-year-old grandson was looking forward to the advertised children’s entertainment from 6pm to 7.30pm, but staff said it only ran on weekends, which didn’t match the poster at reception. The girl on stage said she wasn’t doing it because it was too hot. The next day we planned to use the pool, but a neighbour who owns a caravan told us the filter was broken and the water was filthy. We went to the beach instead, hoping to swim at the pool once it was fixed. The following day reception told me the filter had broken again and the pool was closed. So there was no food, swimming, characters, or disco, and my little grandson was very disappointed. To cap it off, the milk from the onsite shop was off and the bread was a week out of date. Management offered no apology, only defensive excuses and pushback. This may sound made up or exaggerated, but it isn’t. It was possibly our worst holiday ever. Please avoid this site and spend your money elsewhere.

I spent three weeks here and enjoyed every moment. It’s a very peaceful location, and the new luxury development’s beautiful eight-berth caravan had everything you could need in the kitchen. The central heating was very welcome too. We were the first to stay in the caravan. Reception staff were impressive, and Sara checks that everything is in good order. Friends who visited have booked a holiday here as well.

The play park is spacious and right beside the clubhouse, so it’s easier to keep an eye on the children while ordering food. The beach is about a five-minute walk away. It’s a good place for adults and kids, and everyone is friendly and helpful. If you don’t drive, the number 5 bus is a few minutes’ walk from the site. It runs hourly to Whitstabe and Canterbury, and you can pay cash.

A few minutes’ walk gets you to the main campsite, with the kids’ park, restaurant, and outdoor pool. The Oyster Pearl pub is across the road, and Whitstable is an easy drive away. There’s also a shop, fish and chip shop, and Chinese takeaway across the road, though we didn’t try the food places. We stayed in Seasalter Levels rather than the main campsite, in a new, clean, tidy static caravan. It was cosy and nice overall, but the new caravan gave the water a strong metallic taste even after boiling, so we bought bottled water. The toaster also smelled strongly of plastic when used.
