Ellen was a brilliant host, quick to respond and keen to make the stay work for us. We spent the evening outside by the fire pit with a drink, taking in the countryside. The shepherds hut is on a working farm but feels secluded and peaceful, with a hot shower, comfortable bed, stove and log burner. It’s an idyllic spot overlooking a beautiful valley, and there’s a great pub a short walk away. We wouldn’t hesitate to return.
The breakfast was hard to beat, especially the poached eggs, which I don’t usually go for. Everything they use is fresh from their farm or the neighbours. This was our second visit to Tom and Ellen’s farm, for two nights, and the hospitality was wonderful again. After our long walks in the lovely Kent countryside, it was nice to have a drink in the living room next to our bedroom, with the fireplace going. We really recommend this B&B. Such friendly and obliging owners, and they’d left lovely treats for us. The place felt beautifully cosy, with stunning views you can enjoy as soon as you wake up, even without getting out of bed. We had an incredible stay and would love to come back.
A SUPER host and such an idyllic countryside setting made for a fabulous stay. Everything was thought through for a weekend away, and we especially loved the fresh eggs in the morning. It was easy to find, with great links to nearby pubs, farm shops and cafes. Would recommend it to anyone!
We had a cold, wet spell while we were there, but the little log burner kept the shepherds hut warm all night. It’s a lovely cosy place to tuck yourself away for a while, and excellent value for money. Definitely going back.
