Tudor Lodge

There was plenty of parking right outside. We also made good use of the comfortable guest lounge, which had everything we needed, including Sky and Wi-Fi. The bedroom was lovely, with a dressing table and an ensuite shower room, and breakfast was delicious. Tudor Lodge felt like a home away from home. Kerry and Peter were brilliant hosts who made us feel very welcome. It's set in the beautiful South Wales countryside, close to some wonderful places. We had a great time.

The stay was pleasant until I asked about the included breakfast. The owner's strange answer was, "unless you're cooking it then it ain't happening". I thought he might be joking, since one of the owners seems to think he's a comedian, but I was disgusted by the attitude. When I reminded him breakfast was included, he gave me two slices of white bread and a tub of "own brand" margarine, then pointed at the toaster. I asked, "No Lurpak?" and he just smirked. I made the toast, deliberately burned it to a crisp, and fed it to his prize winning koi. Looking him in the eyes, I said I fancied some smoked kippers. He screamed in terror, admitted defeat, and cooked me breakfast. It was meh.

Such a lovely home :D
