The inside has lots of seating and a pretty look, with fairy lights and Christmas decorations. I always drop into Mrs Potts with friends around Christmas, when the vibe is just right. The staff are lovely, the drinks come out quickly, and every drink I’ve had there has been delicious. It is a bit expensive, but worth treating yourself every so often.

I’ve already been twice. Alisha was helpful when I couldn’t decide between the original and very dark hot chocolate, and let me try a taster of each. Both were good. The original isn’t sweet at all, so if you like your hot chocolate a little sweet, very dark might suit you better.

The chocolate cake was lush, and the coffee’s good too. Friendly staff, with comfy sofas, tables, and window seats where you can watch the world go by.

The whole place has a lovely feel, and the staff are really helpful. I couldn’t decide what to get, so I went with the server’s suggestion, the Classic Real Hot Chocolate. It was amazing, easily one of the best I’ve had. You can tell they use high quality chocolate. A chocolate lover’s paradise and a must visit in Cardiff!

We skipped the hot chocolate since it was a warm day, though that seems to be the main draw. The Matilda cake we both tried was delicious, and the portion was big enough to justify the price. The other bakes looked great too. They do have free water and allow pets. But £3.50 for a 200ml bottle of Coca Cola is disgusting.
