Ashley, Marie and the other girl with blonde hair with colour in really looked after me. My heating wasn't working properly, so they moved me to another room, and they made sure I could eat something that suited my dietary requirements. All three were friendly, helpful and a joy to be around. They make the hotel worth visiting. 🤍

The location couldn't be better, just a minute from the station, and the room was spacious enough, very well kept and warm. It was stunningly quiet, the mattress and pillows were superb, and I slept really well. The shower had both a conventional head and a ceiling shower, with strong flow and plenty of hot water. The lifts were super fast. Breakfast was the usual Premier Inn menu, but prepared better than at other Premier Inn properties I've experienced. Ebony and Katie at reception and in the cafe on the morning we left were excellent. The downsides were the computerised check-in, which gave no choice to change rooms, and the dispassionate, insensitive reception ladies on the evening we arrived. None of our phones could get online until 11:30pm, despite trying all the usual steps, and the laptop connection was slow until late in the evening. Without those three issues, I would have rated the stay 5+.

I booked this Premier Inn for a concert at the Utilita, just a five-minute walk away. Check-in was quick and easy, and being right next to the shopping centre was convenient. Parking at the nearby NCP car park was reduced, so about 32 hours cost only around £20, which was great. You can hear people in neighbouring rooms, though, and a loud neighbour can make it hard to sleep. Still, it was a great stay and I'd book again.

The beds were comfortable, the lighting was good enough, the air con worked fine and the washing facilities were fine too. Breakfast cost extra, but the service was good and there was plenty to choose from, including drinks. They asked everyone about allergies and intolerances when they arrived, and brought certain items to the table for those who had them. Our room for three was okay, but there were only two cups and tea and coffee for one person. We later spotted a self-service station for tea, milk, an iron and boards just to the right of the hotel entrance. There was only one pillow each, and nobody to talk to at the help desk or call. Check-in is done at a monitor. It's not hard, but it lacks the human touch. The location's central for Cardiff shopping, with Theatres and Cardiff Central train station no more than a 15-minute walk away.
