The food was superb. My partner had the burger, and I had cod on pulses with a coconut curry sauce, which was lush. The buttered greens on the side were to die for. Service was excellent, genuinely attentive and friendly. We only came in because the other main restaurants were booked. I don’t know Cardigan well, so we walked up the High st looking for somewhere. When I complimented the chef, I found out he’d been the chef at the Harbourmaster in Aberaeron for years. The food there would have cost more than double. The building is beautifully old, and I liked seeing nice pictures as the TVs’ screen savers instead of sport. Lovely touch. We’ll be back.

The staff made me feel comfortable throughout my two-night stay and were ready to help with any questions. Everything was fantastic, from the clean room to the food and drink. I’d highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a hotel in the area. Big shoutout to Amy and Laura for their lovely manner and great service. I hope to come back soon!

We stayed overnight for a family funeral, and the staff were fantastic, so friendly and helpful. They had no problem with an early check-in, which we needed to get ready for the funeral. The rooms were very nice and clean, the bar downstairs had a good atmosphere, and breakfast was excellent.

The bed was like sleeping on a giant marshmallow, so comfortable. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and had everything you need, with lots to watch on TV. The staff were lovely and welcoming, and breakfast was super duper. A great stay for the price.

We stayed overnight while exploring the area, and would come back. The pub hotel had welcoming staff, and our double en-suite was perfectly formed with a good bathroom. The bedroom coving could use some attention, but it didn’t detract from the room. The bed and pillows were very comfy. Dinner downstairs was delicious, duck breast for me and Thai chicken curry for my husband, followed by tonka bean and pistachio profiteroles and honey parfait with rhubarb compote. Couldn’t fault the meal. The roaring fireplace made such a difference on a cold evening. Breakfast was included, with several dishes to choose from as well as yoghurts and cereals. A very nice stay. 😊
