We were here for an overnight stay for a 50th birthday party. I hadn’t realised my husband had booked a room for just one of us, but Tracey sorted it out with a smile and brought extra towels straight away. She was so helpful, and nothing seemed like too much trouble. The room was lovely, clean and comfortable. Excellent service, and I’d definitely recommend this Premier Inn to friends.

I stop here regularly when I’m heading north. The hotel itself is getting pretty worn, but the service is always good, and the on-site Flaming Grill pub is a big part of the appeal. It gets plenty of local support, isn’t tied to Whitbread, stays open until 11pm, and has cheap food and drinks. My favourite is the hot skillet Hunters Chicken, which costs under £12. Breakfast is always made to order rather than buffet, though this time it came out very quickly. Whitbread, take note!

We keep coming back because the location suits us so well, with easy access to the lakes and Scotland. The hotel joins onto a popular pub, and the rooms are quiet with comfortable beds. Staff are friendly and helpful. It could do with redecorating, but otherwise it’s excellent.

Tracey at reception was lovely, welcoming and extremely helpful. The room was clean and the shower was good, but the accommodation needs a complete makeover. The place feels a bit tired and worn now, perhaps because it mainly caters to weekday workers, so it can be a little scruffy. Five stars for Tracey, though!

Tracey checked me in and was kind, friendly and professional. Her warmth really made me feel welcome. Excellent customer service.
