The Christmas lunch for our work group was a real treat. There was loads of room, everyone serving us was upbeat and attentive, and the food arrived hot. The portions were generous, and it was one of the best Christmas lunches I've had. Thanks to the whole team for making it such a memorable occasion, for all the right reasons.

Breakfast was lovely and the staff were brilliant. My single room was a little tight, but it did the job for what I needed. You're right in the centre of town, so everything's easy to get to.

The staff were pleasant, but the meal service was a mess. We'd ordered in advance and still waited over an hour for our food. When our starters finally came, other walk-in diners were already on their second course and dessert. We also discovered that the walk-in set menu cost £5 less for two courses than the one we'd pre-booked. If larger groups are too much to handle, maybe those bookings shouldn't be accepted. On top of all that, we were charged more than £50 too much until we raised the issue.

Lunch was delicious, and the service from the staff was great. I caught up with some dear friends here and will definitely be back.

We only stopped for coffee and cake, not an overnight stay, but both the food and service were lovely. Such a pleasant little hotel, and the staff were really nice.
