My sister and I spent four nights at Christine’s and Peter’s friendly guest house, right in the centre of Bowness. There's lots to do nearby, access to Lake Windermere unlike in Windermere town itself, and buses and boats to places all around the Lakes. We could go walking without worrying about parking. The room was massive, with a sofa and fridge, which we really appreciated for keeping our packed lunches. We have faddy diets, so didn't try the breakfast, though it looked and smelled great at just £6. I don't know what the previous reviewer was on about. The place had everything we needed. Peter and Christine were so friendly, insisted on carrying our bags, gave us advice on where to go and offered room service. We declined, since we don't expect clean sheets every couple of days and prefer to be kind to the environment. The water took a while to get right, but my sister has the same issue in her big old house. We had no complaints, especially for what we paid. Great value, and a warm welcome without anyone being intrusive. Perfect, and we'll be back!

Breakfast was a real highlight. Steve made us a generous three-course meal on each of our two mornings, using local ingredients, and we had plenty of tea, coffee and juice. We ate out on the veranda overlooking the lake. We stayed in the Lakeview Room, which was spotless, beautiful and very comfortable. The house has a lovely view across Kelowna and the lake, and the location is fantastic. Steve and Chrissy were warm and helpful, with good suggestions for things to do. Chrissy also answered our pre-arrival questions quickly and thoroughly, which put us at ease. We had an excellent stay from beginning to end and can't recommend their place enough.

The breakfast was amazing, and we felt completely welcome thanks to Christine and Peter. Our room was huge, with lovely lake views, and the bed was so comfortable I slept like a baby. We had a lovely stay and I couldn't recommend the place more. Thanks, we'll see you again soon.

The breakfasts were excellent every morning and really good value. Our room was lovely, and the laundry smelled fresh and clean. We spent two nights at Lake view guest house, where the hosts were friendly, welcoming, and happy to accommodate everything we needed. It was our first guest house stay, and we'd happily come back. I'd recommend it to anyone visiting the lake district :)

We were right in the middle of town, with lots of bars and restaurants nearby, and breakfast set us up nicely for a day walking. The owner was kind and helpful, even carrying one of our bags up to the room. Our room was spacious, and we're looking forward to coming back.
