The service was even better than the great food. We went for a family meal, enjoyed the pleasant surroundings, and will definitely return next time we’re in Kendal.

Good value, especially in an area full of overpriced gastro pubs. We paid less than £50 for two main courses, two large glasses of wine and two vodka and tonics. The portions were generous, the vegetables fresh and the service prompt. It’s decent pub grub, not fine dining, and it doesn’t claim to be.

We were staying in the village over New Year and popped into the Kings Arms a couple of times. The staff were very friendly, prices were reasonable and the meal we had one evening was very good. The decor could perhaps do with brightening up a little.

James, the landlord, was really accommodating, especially since we hadn’t booked ahead. He found lovely rooms for our family and served a hearty breakfast the next morning. A brilliant little find on our holiday.

We were fitted in for a meal for two at short notice and felt welcome as soon as we came through the door. The staff were great and happy to help with everything. It’s a friendly village pub with old-fashioned hospitality and loads of choice for food and drinks. We’ll definitely be back.
