The Marton Arms

The village is quiet and tucked away, with the Yorkshire Dales nearby and the Lake District close enough for walks, caves and more. The hotel faces a lovely church and open countryside. Inside, the recent refurbishment is tasteful and comfortable, while still fitting the building's age, around 1760. We had excellent meals from a menu with plenty of choice, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout. It was a pleasure staying here, and we plan to return.

Heather stopped by our table for a chat, which was a lovely touch. The whole place feels friendly and cozy, and the atmosphere makes every visit memorable. We came for Valentine's dinner, and from walking in through the meal, everything was first class. There's a fantastic menu, the staff are always so helpful, and the food is outstanding. Whatever we order seems like the best we've ever tasted. Thanks to Heather and the team for a lovely evening. Looking forward to coming back.

That Sunday roast beef was so good we'll definitely be back. The beef was cooked perfectly, with flavourful roast potatoes, red cabbage, carrots, a huge Yorkshire pudding and the tastiest gravy. They even offer extra roast potatoes at no charge. We'd been staying nearby in our motorhome and first popped in for a quick drink, where we got a warm welcome, then booked dinner for the next day. On that first visit, I ordered tea and was offered homemade cake for free, which was a lovely touch. Thanks to the team at The Marton Arms for such a great experience.

We slept really well in spotless, high quality rooms, and the Yorkshire breakfast was top notch. There are local walks nearby, just the thing after enjoying the food and drink. We had a fantastic weekend at the Marton Arms from start to finish, with a warm welcome, superb food cooked with real skill, and a great selection of beers and wines.
