The portions were huge, and every meal came piping hot. We ate here three times in five days, trying meat, vegetarian and fish dishes, and the quality was superb each time. The dining room is spacious and nicely set out, even though you walk through the bar to get to it, so it’s a relaxing place to eat. Staff were great and cheerful, and the prices and wine were good. The beer was less impressive without a hand pull, but I can forgive that for the pleasure of eating here.

It’s a quaint, quiet village, and the common spaces feel cosy and inviting. Our room was clean and nice, the staff were welcoming, and the chef made delicious food. The price felt very fair. We had a perfect stay and plan to return. Thanks!

Good service, generous portions and great value. Friday’s fish and chips was £8, and Saturday’s steak and chips with a glass of wine was £13. I’ve eaten here for years and never had a subpar meal. It’s not fancy, but the chef knows what he’s doing. There are tempting big desserts too. The “Pint of chocolate heaven” looks rich enough to give you diabetes just by looking at it. There’s a large dining room, a beer garden and a dining area for people with dogs. Enjoy.

A pie and a pint kind of place, without any pretension. The portions are enormous, and a family can eat well for a very reasonable price after a day at the beach. The kitchen closes early, around 8.30 I think, so don’t leave dinner too late.
