The lounge looks out over the sea, and Anstruther is an easy 5-10 minute walk away. There are also two local bars less than a minute from the front door. This was our first stay at Belstane house, and the owner made us feel welcome straight away, even helping us find a place to park. The apartment was clean and nicely decorated, with everything we needed, plus a separate sitting room and ensuite bathroom.

We spent ages in the sitting room taking in the spectacular view over the Forth. The bed was firm but comfortable, and the place had a homely feel. Our room was spacious and had everything we needed, though it had a shower rather than a bath. The tea tray even came with a couple of small breakfast options. We didn't try the breakfast included at the boathouse, so can't comment on it. There are a couple of pubs farther along the street, and the harbour and tidal swimming pool are just a few minutes' walk away. The streets are old and very narrow, with little parking, so plan ahead if you're driving. We booked at short notice, and a communication mix-up meant the gentleman hadn't realised we were coming. He was still super friendly and did everything he could to make us feel at home. I'd happily return and highly recommend it.

Breakfast at the boathouse was delicious, and the stay was excellent value. The rooms are spacious, modern and beautifully kept, with a bedroom, lounge and bathroom. Our hosts were fantastic, and the sea views were lovely. I'd expect to pay a lot more for the same experience.

The sea views were lovely, and the couple were very nice. The rooms were great quality and felt more like apartments.

A lovely spot with great views. I'd love to come back.
