We enjoyed our stay and would recommend the cottage, though it could use some care to restore the standards it seems to have had before. It feels a little tired, and a few updates and small repairs would help. The welcome was generous, with freshly baked local bread, Welsh cakes, butter, milk and carnations. But there wasn't really a proper welcome pack. What was there felt scruffy and out of date, with handwritten tips from past guests. Current information about local attractions and instructions for the hot tub and underfloor heating would have been useful. The countryside and Aberystwyth look lovely from the front. The view by the bedroom side window and hot tub is much less pleasant, with piles of bricks and old farm machinery dumped there. There are some real relics, but Drew Pritchard from Salvage Hunters might need to clear them away. Inside, the king-size bed is excellent, and its ensuite wet room has a great shower. The living room has comfortable two and three seater sofas, a woodburner for cold evenings and a flat screen TV with Freeview. The kitchen and dining space are adequately equipped, though the kettle, toaster, microwave and crockery are old and well used. A couple of roasting trays, a mixing bowl and a dustpan and brush would also be handy. Upstairs, there's a roll top bath with a shower and a twin bedroom. The WiFi is fast and reliable, and there's underfloor heating, a dishwasher and a washing machine. You can park two cars, and there's a picnic bench outside for enjoying the views. The hot tub is a nice place to unwind, although its headrests are very worn. The doors and windows could do with sanding and varnishing, and the downstairs duvet is old and worn too. We spilled water on the bed, so took the cover off to dry both on the airer. A newer TV with smart features would be welcome as well. It was a long week with Freeview, and our Firestick didn't work. Thanks for a lovely stay. A bit of attention to detail and minor restoration would make a real difference.

It’s a peaceful spot with great views right outside, and the hot tub and log burner made it easy to relax once the kids were in bed. The open plan layout also meant we could keep an eye on the little terrors while cooking in the good kitchen. The cottage sits off the main road at the end of a single track, with no shops nearby, so you’ll need to drive to one of the local towns for supplies. If that works for you, it’s a lovely secluded Welsh coast break for a small family.

The cottage was warm and comfortable, and the hot tub was wonderful. A peaceful, relaxing stay.
