Cheddar Woods Resort and Spa

Wild flowers surround the lodge, and the views are wonderful. It was clean when we arrived, and we really enjoyed our four nights, Monday to Friday. Our four-year-old granddaughter loved the hot tub and watching rabbits outside the windows at breakfast. The beds and bedrooms were lovely. The main bathroom vinyl floor had seen better days, with water leaking through the gap between the bath and shower door and causing an unpleasant smell. We reported that there was only one oven rack, and reception had another delivered within 15 minutes. We had a wonderful stay and hope to visit again soon.

We came with my daughter and toddler granddaughter for our first holiday together, and the resort and facilities suited us perfectly. The location was quiet and beautiful, and the lodge was well equipped and to a high standard. The hot tub was carefully maintained and checked throughout our stay, and we all enjoyed it. We also liked the pool, spa and gym, and the staff in the main complex were helpful. The pool area was lovely too. We managed with three cars after arriving from different places, but parking could be difficult if the site were busy, so a bit more space would help. We'd thoroughly recommend it and would definitely return.

The staff were lovely, the pool was clean though cold, and the lodge was in a great spot close to loads of things to do. The accommodation was okay and had what we needed, but our unit felt neglected. Most doors stuck in their frames, and there was significant damp on the kitchen floor. The carpet was full of dog hair. I know it was dog friendly, but if I could sweep the hair up with a dustpan, it clearly hadn't been vacuumed properly. The large kids' play park was closed during our stay, leaving everyone trying to use a tiny area. It was fine overall, but I wouldn't be in a hurry to stay again.

We booked a deluxe lodge with a hot tub and were given one tucked away with a great view. A lovely little getaway and a great experience. The pool was a bit busy because of the holidays, and there wasn't any space for my wife to book spa treatments. I'd recommend booking treatments before the trip.
