Rothmans Bed Breakfast

Caroline was a very good host and made the instructions clear. It was a quiet location with easy parking, and although there were a few door key codes to get through, they let you come and go as you please. I never got breakfast because I didn't leave my order sheet as instructed in the room, and didn't get in touch to ask, though I'm sure I could have got something. My room was huge and the bed very comfortable. I was upgraded to the four-poster room because there were issues with the room I'd originally booked. The bathroom was the downside, very small and cramped, so I decided not to shower even though I'm not tall. When I flushed the loo, water came up through the shower tray drain. I'm sure that's not normal and is a drain issue they'll sort out. It hasn't put me off possibly booking here again.

Caroline was delightful and attentive. If you fill in the breakfast sheet, she'll have breakfast ready on time. I'll stay here again if I'm back in the area. I spent the weekend in a small bedroom and don't need much. The shared bathrooms and toilets for the smaller rooms are worth knowing about, though they caused me no issues. The floors creak, and it's a very quiet place, neither bothered me. The internet wasn't very strong, but that was okay.

The rooms are big, with beautiful traditional decor, and Peter welcomed us. He's humble and very nice to talk to. Breakfast could be better. We couldn't fill up on half-cooked eggs, cereal and tea that wasn't very good. It would be better to serve boiled tea instead of providing an electric kettle, and muffins, croissants and a few more options would be welcome.

The Manor House is stunning, and I had a very comfortable stay. The room had everything I needed, including the lovely touch of real milk instead of UHT. Breakfast was first class. Peter, the proprietor, was pleasant and very accommodating. I'll definitely stay here again.
