Ravencar Farm Bed and Breakfast

We just wrapped up two nights and were blown away. Helen, the owner, was so lovely and made a fantastic breakfast. She offered us tea whenever she saw us, and nothing was too much trouble. Parking is in a secure courtyard. We'll definitely be back!

If modern decor is what you're after, this probably isn't the place. But it's clean, has a great shower and a comfortable bed, and Helen is a fantastic host who'll do just about anything to help. The breakfast has loads of choice, I'd give it six stars. It's dog-friendly, and bikers should feel safe behind the electric entrance gate, with a dog who might bark if she hears anything wrong. Book direct, I saved £70 with one phone call to Helen. The downstairs room is smaller, but has a lovely view of Helen's little homestead and a separate entrance. A couple of room details were less than ideal: the fridge was very noisy, though I told Helen and she said she'd replace it, and the bathroom door handle was broken. There was also black tape on the bathroom cabinet where a panel was missing. Still, none of that would put me off returning. The attention to detail is great, right down to scissors for opening those pesky sauce packets.

Helen is a delight and nothing seems too much trouble for her. The place is spotless, with a warm, homely feel, and the breakfast is freshly made and delicious. It's in a perfect spot with beautiful surroundings. I can't recommend it enough. 😊❤️

The room was spacious enough for our dog, and breakfast was excellent with horses to watch while we ate. Helen was a lovely host, always ready to help and full of useful local knowledge.
