There was a nice choice of drinks, but the woman serving, the one with tattoos up her arm, was screaming and swearing at some customers as she threw them out, shouting, “this is my pub.” I assume she’s the landlord. She seemed very drunk while working behind the bar, which was really off-putting. We left pretty quickly.

The meal and service here were unbelievably bad. We went for Sunday lunch with the family, but couldn't order the roast shown prominently on the blackboard by the entrance because, apparently, it had to be booked in advance. We tried the regular menu instead, only to be told by the bar staff that about half the items weren't available, leaving four choices. After we ordered from what was left, it took over an hour for the fish and chips to arrive. The peas were a tablespoon floating in a little bowl that was half full of water. Disgusting. The pub was mostly empty, too. Really disappointing.

The food was excellent and priced about as you'd expect for what we had. It's a lovely place for a family Sunday lunch, and the pub seems like a great addition to the area. It was surprisingly quiet at 2pm on a Sunday, so I hope it gets enough custom. We checked the website menu first, but it only showed a limited selection. A phone call confirmed they do a full roast dinner, so perhaps the website could be updated.

The food was really nice, with generous portions for the price, and the drinks were good quality. It's been nicely refurbished too. What puts me off is having table service only. This is my nearest pub, but I don't want to have to sit at a table when I'm on my own, and even with a group I'd still like the option of going up to the bar. It feels a bit like lockdown again.

It's a very welcome new local for us, and we're glad to have a pub within walking distance. The staff are really friendly, and the table service is attentive. They welcome dogs too, which is a big plus for us. Thanks to the team who have taken it over. I hope the locals support you regularly.
