Fountain Hotel

I hadn't been back since the refurb, and the pub's looking great now. Good music, friendly people, and a nice vibe, with very reasonable prices. They aren't serving food yet, but hopefully they will at some point. It's my new favourite Tottenham pub.

The bus and Tube links were excellent, and the complimentary light breakfast was appreciated. The fountain bar beside the hotel had a good atmosphere, friendly staff, and was well stocked. It's a great place to stay for a Tottenham Hotspur game or to explore a less touristy part of London. One thing to know if you arrive early: when I was there, the pub didn't open until around midday, and you had to wait to get your keys.

The room was very clean and warm even though it was -2 outside, and the fresh milk in the fridge was a lovely touch. The staff were pleasant. The bar area looked very modern, and I remember it before the refurbishment. The downside was there weren't enough pillows.

I was having a drink with a lad I'd met, but we kept getting dirty looks from an older man in a cream polo and a tiny older woman who were working there at the time. It was a shame, because the food looked lush and we probably would have stayed.
