Badger Towers

Peter is a treasure. We arrived a little early, but our rooms were already ready, and he had the keys waiting at the door. This B&B has been special compared with the others we’ve stayed at all week, and far exceeded my expectations of a family-run place. It felt like staying in a good friend’s house, with antique furniture, wonderful beds, and fantastic bathrooms. Our bathroom was glorious, with two sinks, and I finally got to enjoy a hot bath. The bed was fantastically comfortable, and there was lots of comfortable seating too. What struck me was how thoughtfully everything was placed: there was somewhere to set a bag in the bathroom, plugs were where you needed them, and plenty of space for devices. After showering, we walked into town for a while. It was a bit of a walk, but not bad. When we got back and changed, Peter mentioned a pub about three minutes down the road if we wanted a light snack. We went to the Hewlett pub for a light dinner and a few pints. It was a great local spot. After a good night’s sleep and that lovely bath, we felt refreshed. Breakfast was arranged for 8:15, and at 8:15 we sat down to a fantastic full English breakfast. The ham was amazing. We ate as much as we could, then packed up for our next hike on the Cotswald Way. Peter saw us to the door and made sure all our luggage was stowed. Beautiful place and beautiful people!
