I nearly cancelled when I heard at booking that we’d be sitting outside under a marquee. It felt a little strange at first, but they’ve done it very well and it was warm enough. The food was lovely, and the beef wellington was cooked perfectly. It carried on cooking on the plate, for anyone who thought it was too rare. The cocktail bar is highly recommended too. The toilets are quite a walk away and upstairs, which could be difficult if you can’t walk far.

We got married here recently and had a superb experience from beginning to end. Georgie and Meg were especially well organised and kept smiling throughout. Huge thanks to Henry the Chef too, everyone’s still talking about the food. Highly recommend the venue!

We had a lovely evening, with mussels to start and grilled chicken for the main. The atmosphere was lovely, and Andrea was a really kind waitress who helped make it special.

We booked what was described as a “luxury” stay and told the hotel that both guests have epilepsy. On checkout morning, the bathroom flooded badly, with water coming up through the carpet, and we nearly fell. Staff accused us of causing the damage with a shower we couldn’t even use, and said maintenance had found nothing. We have photos and video showing the leak getting worse over two hours, so it clearly seemed to be an ongoing problem. Instead of taking responsibility, the hotel made us feel at fault for a safety hazard. This is dangerous for any guest, especially people with disabilities. Avoid.
