There’s loads of room in this stylish house, with three bedrooms, two double beds, and a kids’ room with a single bed and a top bunk. Sofas in the living room pull out into more double beds. The kitchen is large and well styled, with an oven, electric stove, automatic heating, dishwasher, and washing machine, plus a sofa nearby. Outside there’s a small BBQ area with a table and chairs, and the fenced-in garden is private. The bathroom has a big shower and a bath, towels, and a towel drying rack. Tea bags, coffee, and sugar are provided, so bring milk. There’s a big TV and TVs in the main bedrooms, with all channels and streaming apps including Netflix, Disney, and YouTube upstairs too. There’s also a DVD player, and the windows open. It was amazing, spacious, and stylish, and great for the price compared with local hotels. You can walk to the zoo from the house, and there’s a bus stop and pubs nearby. Takeaways and groceries can be ordered nearby, and Tescos and McDonald's are in Chester Town. For taxis, King Kabs is a good service.

The beds were really comfortable, and the kitchen dining room was laid out well. The owner communicated clearly, sending all the details and pass codes, so that part was faultless. The place could use a deep clean, though. The shower head needs replacing, which made me question whether the Legionella management regime is adequate. Three spot lights weren’t working. It just needs some TLC.

The private, fenced garden is a nice feature, but it’s all sharp, noisy stones, so it doesn’t feel relaxing or suitable for children to play in. There are chairs, though. Given the highchair and bunk beds, families of different ages seem to be expected. Owners, the highchair straps just need washing. Inside, the layout is nice and comfortable, and it’s a handy distance from the Zoo and Chester centre. Cleanliness let it down in quite a few places: dirt along the top of the badly fitting bath panel, around the sink pedestal, and on the kitchen cupboard finger slots and table, which was sticky and needed a proper clean rather than a quick wipe. The wicker placemats were full of bits. The movable shower head leaks because its washer is missing, though the water stays inside the cubicle, and the fixed round overhead head is dirty or rusty, unpleasant to stand under. The Bosch induction hob is nice, but one saucepan is aluminium and doesn’t work on induction. Most of this would be easy to sort, though the garden surface may be harder and might be fine for others. If it was all fixed, I’d happily stay again.

We stayed briefly while visiting Chester Zoo. The rooms were spacious, nicely decorated, clean, and well kept, and the garden was lovely. The kitchen was spotless and everything worked. Having both a bath and shower in the bathroom was helpful with little children.

I’ve stayed in a few air b n b places, and this one’s right at the top of my list. It was clean, well kept, with comfy beds, lovely decor, and plenty of space. The house was child friendly and close to local shops. The owner was so friendly and polite. I’ll definitely stay again.
