The Boathouse & Riverside Rooms

We'd definitely stay again. The bar and restaurant have the same warm, relaxing feel as the rooms, with that rustic style. Our room was modern, spacious, comfortable and very clean, and the staff were welcoming and friendly. The small courtyard car park and riverside location are a real plus.

The Sunday Roast sharing platter is excellent value, so we come back regularly. The pub and restaurant have recently been updated and are now a lovely place to eat. Sally is always wonderful, generally lovely and somehow knows what you want before you ask.

The rooms are elegant and really well appointed, and the service was good. The WiFi is a disaster, though, and there's no phone signal either, so you end up in splendid isolation in your room, which might suit you! You can pop over to the restaurant for better WiFi, but that's not ideal in your pyjamas. Super spot right on the River Dee, and great rooms.

We had breakfast at the restaurant the next morning, and it was excellent, fresh and well cooked. Every staff member we met was friendly and efficient. The night before, we'd enjoyed drinks on the riverside terrace even in October. The private huts are a great idea, though most of their heat lamps need fixing. Parking in the little courtyard was easy when we arrived around 4:30pm on a Saturday, and check-in was quick. Room 11 was spotless, spacious and comfortably warm, with a good-sized bed, decent TV and plenty of storage. The bathroom was modern and well kept. The WiFi was very slow, my 5G worked much better, and lots of TV channels didn't seem to load. We could sometimes hear other guests using the bathroom taps or toilets, though that's to be expected in an older building. A charming place with character and a great location. A few small fixes would make it nearly perfect.
