Had breakfast in the morning and it was really nice. The room was clean, tidy and had everything I needed, and on the second floor I couldn't hear the busy bar downstairs at all. It's a good Wetherspoons, just a 5-10 minute walk from the middle of town, with a clean bar. The staff were really friendly, especially the duty manager who checked me in Tuesday afternoon and the one working this morning. Both were polite and attentive. Some Wetherspoons are crap, but this is a good pub with good staff. Thank you.

My partner had the katsu curry and the chicken was crunchy outside but very, very undercooked in the middle. It actually made him quite ill. The chips were okay, though they seemed to have been sitting under a heat lamp for a while. Such a shame, because the food used to be pretty good.

Back at this great Spoons. I've stayed here twice before, though today was just for drinks. It's typically busy, has a great ale selection and the regular food menu.

Took my Mum and Dad here for lunch today. It's right in the heart of Chester city centre, and the service was friendly, professional and efficient. Great food too, I had the pepperoni pizza. Highly recommended! :)

The ale is great value at £2.09 a pint for Abbots bitter, and it was a good pint. Staff were attentive, too. Food's another matter. The breakfast and fish and chips were tasteless, with no mushy peas or tartar sauce. It's cheap, so if you're starving it's fine, but don't bring ya bird here for a birthday meal!
