The Chester Grosvenor makes a lovely base for seeing the city. Shops, historic streets and attractions are all within an easy walk, and the hotel itself has a beautiful setting that brings together the building's history with an elegant, comfortable feel. Our room was spacious, spotless and thoughtfully laid out, with a very comfortable bed. The atmosphere throughout felt calm and indulgent. The dining stood out as well: the restaurants and afternoon tea were excellent, with carefully presented food and high-quality ingredients. Staff were attentive and professional while still being warm and easy to approach. From arrival, we felt welcome and noticed the care in the details and service. It's a wonderful choice for a luxurious, comfortable stay in Chester, and made the visit feel especially memorable. ✨

The food was beautifully presented and really good, with plenty of options to choose from. We went on a busy Saturday afternoon, but the staff were friendly, quick and couldn't do enough for us. The atmosphere was relaxed, with light music playing, and the drinks list was good too. We especially loved the champagne cocktails. It's right in the heart of Chester and easy to reach by transport. I'd recommend it.

Our one night stay left us wishing we could have stayed longer. When someone in our party fell outside and then had a couple more falls inside the hotel, the staff were so helpful and did everything they could for us. The food was fabulous, and the evening dining room experience was astounding. For a special occasion, it's worth every penny. It isn't cheap, but you get what you pay for. There aren't enough stars for this hotel.

The chocolate dessert was so good I wanted to lick the sauce off the plate. I'd been trying to skip dessert after eating too much over Christmas, but our charming server recommended it when he saw I liked chocolate. He really knew his wine, too. Chardonnay was only available by the bottle, and since I wanted just a glass, he suggested another white that I loved. We were in Chester for the day on 17/01/26 and stopped for lunch at the Brasserie at 12.30pm. It was busy, but we got a table and didn't wait long for menus or drinks. The beef and chicken were both delicious, and the staff worked hard throughout. The doorman was very welcoming as well. We've stayed at the hotel many times and always find it beautiful, with lovely staff. Thank you for such a nice lunch. We'll be back to stay again. If I could give 100 stars, I would, definitely 10/10. Happy New Year to all the staff.

The food was nice and there was a wide selection of teas, but this second afternoon tea was a letdown compared with our first visit. We weren't offered more tea or a chance to try other kinds, and the staff weren't very attentive. Asking for extra food felt awkward. The scones arrived before we'd asked for them, which made us feel hurried even though we still had an hour at the table. We noticed the same thing happening to other guests. At this price, we could have gone somewhere cheaper and had better service. It wasn't the lovely experience we'd had the first time.
