I stayed for just over two weeks and felt safe and comfortable the whole time. The owners were lovely, friendly, and welcoming, and their kid is adorable. The building is old, but everything was in good shape, clean, and well presented. I believe it had just been refurbished when the new management took over. The location made everyday things easy. There’s a big Waitrose right next door, and it’s under a ten minute walk to the train station or the town centre shops and restaurants. Laundry facilities are available, and Chris even offered to rearrange or add furniture in case I needed more drawers for a longer stay. The shared kitchen was well stocked and never seemed to be occupied when I wanted to cook. Coffee, tea, and other basics were complimentary. There’s also an eat in kitchen, an outdoor patio and balcony, and a front sitting room with toys, games, and a TV. I booked several months ahead and got a private en suite room at a discounted rate, though the regular price wasn’t high either. My room was lovely, painted a homey dark blue, with double glazed windows and curtains that blocked the light. The bed, pillows, and sheets were comfortable, and the shower was hot with better pressure than mine at home. I didn’t have a single problem or complaint, and I know where I’ll stay next time I’m in Chester.
