The main drawback was noise from the pub next door, the cafe on the other side, and sometimes people in the flat above. It could also feel cold, though we could have switched on the heating and there were big cosy blankets. The cottage isn’t wheelchair accessible, and its tucked-away setting would make that hard to change. Still, this was an unexpected treat: a cosy, well-equipped single-storey cottage with a private courtyard, set back from a busy Chester street. Friends staying in nearby hotels were very envious. We visited on an unusually busy weekend with a couple of big events in Chester, so I doubt it’s normally as noisy. I’d definitely recommend it and will come back.
