The food was dry and tasteless, and it took forever to arrive even though staff seemed to be milling around without much to do. Our salad had no real salad ingredients, just a few dry pieces of chicken on a handful of leaves. When we asked them to make it into an actual salad, the waitress said they couldn't incorporate it, then reluctantly took it away. It came back with half a tiny cherry tomato and a piece of cucumber cut into four. The mushy peas were just small peas in a sauce. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt horrendous. The waitresses seemed more interested in fixing their appearance and asking each other how they looked than welcoming anyone. They were arrogant, rude and completely unprofessional. The staff in general were unpleasant, and the restaurant felt incredibly stuck up. The manager was rude too and handled the complaint appallingly, as though he needed management training. We were charged for a meal we didn't eat, on top of the terrible service. Our birthday was ruined, and we wouldn't return. Avoid.

The location is beautiful and calming, and the service was fantastic. Even the cleaner spoke with me and clearly took pride in her work and the place. The hotel is decorated to an incredibly high standard, with no expense spared, and the interior design was the best we've seen. Our children both said it was the best hotel they'd stayed in. The food was incredible too, from its range and generous portions to the quality of the produce. We all thoroughly enjoyed our Easter weekend at the Peak Edge. 5 stars 🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟

The dinner menu had loads of choice and the food was excellent. The photos I took don't really capture it, but I've included them anyway. Our room was superb, and the hospitality was just as good. We met up with friends for an overnight reunion last Thursday, and Peak Edge Hotel worked well as a central spot for everyone. From the moment we arrived, the welcome was warm. There was a big event in the function room, but our meal and service weren't affected at all. The staff were smart, attentive and clearly well trained. Breakfast the next morning was an excellent full English. My wife now wants me to bring her here too, and I think I will.

The children were looked after just as well as we were. We had a spacious, well equipped room, and they loved the fish and chips at The Red Lion. I'd recommend the chateaubriand steak. The wine list was very good and reasonably priced. The hotel sits in beautiful countryside and feels both luxurious and cosy. Everyone was friendly and made an effort to make our stay special. We'll definitely be back.

The meal was enjoyable overall, but the service and food details didn't quite match the prices. My steak, ordered medium, came very rare. My husband ate most of it and said it was delicious, though he agreed it was definitely rare. When I told the waitress, she said she'd pass it on to the chef, and that was the end of it. The staff were professional, but didn't seem very engaged or enthusiastic. The room was missing basics like drinking water, and the shower leaked badly and became extremely slippery when wet, which was concerning. The location is lovely and the hotel could be much better. I was looking forward to the visit, so it was a shame the service and atmosphere lacked that extra special touch. We do plan to return and hope it meets our expectations next time.
