The Beach House

Pam and Lorna had made the breakfast room available for us to eat a takeaway, a really thoughtful touch. We picked up fish and chips from the Boathouse chippy and ate there. The house itself was lovely, and our room had been prepared beautifully. We arrived at about 3pm to find the Beach House in darkness. A note by the side door had a phone number, so I called. Pam explained that she’d texted the entry and room instructions, but I’d missed the message, and talked me through everything. She also offered to text us some dinner suggestions. The next morning, there were plenty of cold breakfast choices while our 9am order was being prepared. The hot breakfast was excellent too, though we ordered more carefully the second morning because the first serving had been far too much food. We left after breakfast. We were visiting family the following day and walked on West Wittering beach. That evening we ate at The Wittering pub, one of Pam’s suggestions, and had a very good meal. The barman was accommodating as well. Thanks to Pam and Lorna for a lovely stay. We hope to visit again.

My father has mobility needs, so we contacted them before arriving and they put us in the best room, closest to his parking space. Pam and her daughter were such good hosts, making sure the room, beds and breakfast were all right for us. The breakfast was probably the best I’ve had in the UK for both choice and quality. Our son was given a magic trick and lots of board games, and our hosts even had a joke-off with my elderly dad. A wonderful stay.

Our spaniel had a lovely time too, especially when the breakfast sausage appeared. It’s a great place to stay: a beautiful, quiet room, a fabulous breakfast and thoughtful, friendly owners. Handy for exploring nearby and further afield. I’d love to come back, and would choose the Beach House again.

Breakfast was fabulous, with lots to choose from, including full English, American pancakes and vegetarian options. Pam and Lorna were happy to answer questions or help with anything else we needed, and the check-in instructions were clear. We had the top floor, where the bathroom and toilet are separate from the room. We knew that when booking, and since ours was the only room up there, it wasn’t a problem. The beds were really comfortable, though I wish they were king size, and there was plenty of space to spend time around the property. It was thoughtful of them to let guests use plates and cutlery for takeaway dinners. We’d love to return.
