The Summerhouse

Breakfast was fantastic, with fresh, top-quality food. My husband had the full English and my vegetarian breakfast was fabulous. The table was set with beautiful linen and heavy silver cutlery, looking out over the magnificent pond. A duck and her newborn ducklings, country garden plants and two cute dogs made the view feel idyllic. We were lucky to get a last-minute room when The Summerhouse had a cancellation. Paul welcomed us warmly, and the garden and pond were stunning. Inside, it felt more like a five-star hotel than a traditional B&B, with tasteful decor, lovely furnishings and antiques that never felt stuffy. The communal lounge has a huge stone fireplace and was relaxing, and with only three bedrooms there weren't many people to share it with. Our room, Narnia, was spacious, spotless and very well equipped. The other two rooms are smaller, cosy and full of character. Martin and Paul were wonderful hosts, and nothing was too much trouble. Little touches like a welcome drink and a nightcap made the place feel special. You arrive as guests and leave feeling like you've visited friends. We'll be back as soon as we can.

The grounds were beautiful, and Martin was a fantastic host who made sure everything was perfect. Our bedroom was nicely furnished, the bed was great, and breakfast was fantastic. We'll definitely return.

We felt very welcome thanks to the fantastic hosts. The Cotswold setting is beautiful, and the lovely house in its superb garden makes it even better. Our room was finished to a very high standard, and breakfast set us up for the day. The honesty box for evening drinks feels unusual these days, but it sums up this five-star B&B.

The host was fantastic, and the house, cleanliness and scenery were all hard to fault. It was a perfect stay, with the best breakfast I've ever had. I'd love to come back.
