Hazel made us feel at home straight away. She was so welcoming and helpful, and gave us great ideas for things to do and places to eat. The house was quiet and very comfortable, with beautiful gardens, in a perfect spot for relaxing and exploring South Devon. We appreciated all the thoughtful touches, from the high quality local products to the refrigerated water bottles that were always available. We could also use the lounge, which was lovely.

Everything was fresh and beautifully clean, and Hazel made a substantial breakfast that was served perfectly. She was friendly, attentive and full of useful information about the area, and nothing seemed too much trouble. Thank you, Hazel, for such lovely hospitality. After our journey, Hazel noticed we were tired and put together a tasty supper of local cheeses, pickles and fruit. We enjoyed it outside in the lovely gardens. The garden and house are stunning, and we were made to feel at home in both right away. This is a perfect boutique B&B, and Hazel is a warm, discreet host who was helpful throughout. On arrival, we had tea and delicious cake in the beautiful sitting room, which set a lovely tone for the visit. The vegetarian cooked breakfast we requested was delicious on the first morning, and the continental breakfast we chose the next day was just as good. Hazel kindly served both early because we were attending an event. We can highly recommend Higher Leigh House for a supremely comfortable stay in South Devon.
