The hosts had everything ready for us, with the place warm and cozy, the lights on, and even a Christmas tree waiting. We had a wonderful time there from 24 to 28 December, and it gave 14 of us in the family room to have Christmas dinner together. We made really special memories and can't wait to come back. The cottage felt like home, and the beds upstairs were especially comfortable. We parked right outside, then spent time on the terrace at the back by the little river, listening to all the birds. The whole place was so peaceful and relaxing that we could easily have stayed another week. It’s on a working sheep farm, down a private road away from traffic and close to the mountains, with nice walks nearby. Shops are close, and Swansea is 10 miles away. Aberdularis waterfall and tin mine, as well as Neath Abbey, are not far off; both are free to visit and well worth seeing. The information folder was useful too. Thanks, David and Rachel, for having us for the week.

The farm's peaceful setting was a big part of what made our stay so enjoyable. We also made great use of the visitor guidebook, which had loads of useful tips on things to do and places to explore. Our host checked in to see that everything was all right and was very helpful. The property and its facilities exceeded what we expected, and we had a fantastic time at Valley Holiday Cottages.

A lovely place with a real home-from-home feel. We had beautiful rural views, and the owners were friendly and helpful. The enclosed patio was handy for our dog, and there was parking for the car.

We had a great time here with the kids and are already making plans to come back soon. The cottages seem to cater for all kinds of families, and I believe pets are welcome too. There are photos around the cottage showing the fascinating history of the grounds, plus a great book written by the host himself. Swansea Valley holiday cottages were perfect for us. Thanks very much for having us, we'll be back shortly 🙂
