Breakfast the next morning was spot on, and the room pizza was one of the best parts of our stay. The stone-baked pizza was delicious, though I thought it was a bit odd there wasn’t a pepperoni option for the kids. The teas were a great selection, with organic choices and even a cheeky biscuit. Everything was reasonably priced and good value. We were at The Stump while attending a charity event at Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens, and the whole visit went really well. The room was comfortable, clean and tidy, with plenty of towels and toiletries. Everyone was welcoming and friendly, and the customer service was second to none. They even printed a special note for my two children, who were taking part in an organised event for Midlands Air Ambulance. Thanks to the whole team for making our trip so enjoyable. We’d happily come back and would recommend The Stump to anyone visiting the area.

Booking most of the rooms gave our friends and family a handy place to gather for the wedding weekend. We stayed at The Stump for two nights since our wedding was just up the road at Cripps Barn, and it was an ideal base. The pizza restaurant did a brilliant job with our group of 10 on a busy Friday night. The food came out quickly, fresh and delicious. Rupert was a great host and gave us fantastic service throughout. We’d definitely recommend staying here if you’re in the Cotswolds.

DEYA on tap and Butty Bach, right in the middle of nowhere. Heaven. We went hungry and left happy, ordering a pizza each after going to town on the starters. It was absolutely worth it, nothing disappointed. If you like salty little naughty starters, get the fried fish and anchovie on bread. The pizzas are all banging, so you can’t go wrong. Lovely, lovely, lovely.

We won’t be coming back. The pizza was pretty much tasteless, and the salad looked and tasted like it was about 2 years old. It was thrown onto a small plate and absolutely drenched in olive oil, or at least I hope it was, because it tasted like rapeseed oil. The atmosphere wasn’t welcoming, especially arriving with kids and not even being given a kids menu. There were just dirty looks when our 2 years old stood up on the bench. Yes, lady waitress, we saw you looking ;)

We stayed two nights last weekend for my birthday, and our room upgrade was a lovely surprise. Our suite was in the converted cottage next to the hotel, beautiful, clean, cosy and welcoming, with a lovely big roll top bath. The pub and restaurant were a real plus. Breakfast was very good both mornings, and dinner by one of the cosy open fires was delicious. I had pasta, my husband had pizza, and we shared a tiramisu. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Charlotte was such an attentive, smiley waitress, and Amie, who welcomed us on arrival, was chatty, helpful and friendly. She’s a real asset to The Stump. Good staff are always a definite plus. I’d definitely recommend this place 😍
