The bathroom had no hand or body soap when we arrived. When I asked at reception, the annoyed receptionist insisted three times that soap wasn’t provided. He only came up to refill the dispensers after I pushed, and it took him 10 minutes. Later, I found five large bloodstains on the mattress cover when I pulled back the duvet, so we slept on towels. The sheets were changed the next morning, but that should never happen in a hotel. I wouldn’t recommend the place unless poor hygiene and staff attitude are acceptable to you.

The bed was very comfortable, and Liverpool Street station is incredibly convenient from here. That’s why I’m giving it two stars. The building felt like it was falling apart: an electrical fault alarm beeped from check-in until checkout, water poured through a light fitting in the shared hallway, and the carpets were filthy. Flooring material was peeling off the walls. Our so-called garden view was a few fenced-off skylights with decking between them. The room and corridors were unfinished, and although a sign said the corridor was being refurbished, other reviews suggest it had been that way for months. At this price, you can find clean, well-maintained places a 5-10 minute walk away. I’d stay there instead.

Everyone at reception was so friendly and welcoming. The room was brilliant, and I enjoyed the stay from beginning to end. I’ll definitely be back!

For London, the room was much larger than average and really good value. The floors are thin, though, and I could hear nearly every footstep from the room above.

Really easy to get around from here, and the staff were very friendly, especially Henzo. One of the best places to stay around Liverpool Street in London. Highly recommend 👌
