Clee Hotel

We went into the pub attached to the clee hotel for a drink and to get our bearings, and were glad to discover it was a hotel as well. Our original booking elsewhere wasn't suitable. With no notice at all, the lovely staff and owner found a perfect self contained flat for six of us at a fantastic price. Great service, nice facilities and a clean, spacious flat. We'd highly recommend it.

The rooms were clean, but basic, and the bedroom window was cracked. The toilet base was loose. The continental breakfast was awful. The brown bread was mouldy, the croissants were two weeks out of date, and the cheap Aldi crumpets were rubbery. I took one bite and left it. Mince pies aren't usually part of continental breakfast, either. I wouldn't eat anything else on display. We weren't told it was continental when we booked, only that breakfast was included. I told the lady about the mouldy bread, but she didn't bring out any more. Wouldn't stay again. Such a shame the breakfast was so poor.

The TV in our room didn't work, and in the middle of the night my Wife found a slug on the wetroom floor. The time for continental breakfast had been confirmed the night before, but in the morning the buffet room was locked and there was no staff at the hotel, so no breakfast was available. We had paid for it as part of the room package and didn't get it. We'd stayed here before, but after this experience, never again.

A proper Hidden Gem. The pub has an outdoor area, friendly staff and nice decor, plus a unique range of beers you don't see elsewhere in the area, including 1664 Blanc and Camden Stout.
