We dropped in on the evening of the May bank holiday Monday. The menu was small, but our homemade fish pie and steak frites were good, as were the ales. Friendly staff and a lovely spot just off the promenade.

The place is under new management now, and what a blessing. The new guy is great, really personable and friendly. I stopped by with a mate for a couple of pints on Wednesday 18th Feb. The Guinness was very good and properly poured, which is rare in most pubs. Lovely view looking over the Pier and channel. We didn't eat, but the food coming out of the kitchen looked good. I'll definitely be back.

The Moon and Sixpence is right across from the beach and pier, with a lovely seafront walk nearby. We got a warm welcome when we arrived. The rooms are behind the pub and have no internal connection, so you have to walk around outside to reach them. The stairs to the upstairs rooms are fairly steep. That wasn't a problem for us, but if you have mobility issues, ask for a downstairs room. Our room felt more homely than a hotel room, was spotless, and had a really comfy bed and pillows. The temperature was just right. Breakfast was one of the best I've had, tasty, well presented, and generous. I'd definitely recommend staying here.

The pub's a little tired-looking, but in a charming way, and the people were lovely. We stopped for an unplanned lunch, and the food was great. The burger tasted properly homemade and was beautifully cooked, as was the chicken souvlaki. It's in a great spot near the pier, and I'd gladly stop in again when I'm in the area.

Under new management, and the place looks really clean and tidy. The service was great and the food amazing. Think I've found my new local.
