A fantastic detached cottage on a working farm, with what are probably the best views of anywhere I’ve stayed. My mum, my dog, my 3 kids under 10 and I all loved it. It’s in a fabulous location with a great village, and the owners were so friendly and welcoming. Thrilled to have found this gem.

We’ll come again. Maggie gave us a wonderful, warm welcome with wine and homemade scones. It’s a beautiful old farm, and the cottage is well equipped with a wood burning stove. There are lovely walks through open countryside close to Pendle Hill. Thanks from Sally and Martin.

The hosts were welcoming and have thought of everything you might need for a relaxing stay. Cobden View was spotlessly clean and very well appointed. There are lovely views of rolling hillsides and woodland from every window, in a beautiful, scenic spot. I had a fantastic stay, highly recommended.

We’ve already booked Cobden View cottage for next year. This is our fourth stay, and it certainly won’t be our last. Maggie, John and Missy are perfect hosts, always on hand if you need anything. They greet you with home baked scones, jam and freshly laid farm eggs. The cottage feels like a real home from home, with everything you need and more. We love the spectacular views and staying on a working farm. Some reviewers have mentioned the approach road. We have a normal hatchback and have never had any trouble on the short drive. Just go a little slower, take in the scenery and watch for inquisitive sheep, as it is a working farm. Sabden is a beautiful village, and the cottage is well placed for walks starting right from the door. There’s a folder in the living room with route maps and walking books to read and borrow. The decking at the back has a table, chairs and bbq, a lovely spot for sunny evenings with a stunning view of Pendle Hill. You can see Pendle Hill from the fantastically equipped kitchen and living room too, who needs a tv with that view? Clitheroe, Dunsop Bridge, Skipton and the Yorkshire Dales are all easy to reach if you want to go further afield. The cottage is dog friendly, which is a great bonus. Our Jack Russell loves staying here so much that this year she started crying with excitement as we drove up the approach road. We absolutely love Cobden View Cottage and can’t recommend it enough. Shame we have to share it. Kazz, Janette and Star

I found the place disappointing, and we will never stay here again. The long farm track was full of holes and not suitable for normal cars, with one bend you have to shut to get round. At the cottage, the grass was over six in high and hadn’t been cut. You have to enter through a side door because the other door is blocked by furniture and probably locked. The washing machine didn’t work until Wednesday, and then not correctly. Hot water pressure was very low, making washing up difficult and the shower poor. When we went to use the bar b cue, it was full of used nappies. At the back of the property there was dog poo everywhere and long grass. This could be a nice place to stay if the track was maintained, the ramshackle farm tidied up and some pride taken in the place.
