The room was warm, clean, and roomy, and the bed was really comfortable. There was plenty of tea and coffee, plus a bottle of water and the other basics. Some earlier reviews mentioned the rooms needed freshening up; ours had already been worked on, and more refurbishing was underway during our stay, so it seemed the feedback had been taken on board. Breakfast had a good range of options. The furniture was basic, but for what we paid, the stay exceeded expectations. We were glad we chose it and would happily come back.

The staff were so friendly, and the Indian food in the evening was superb. It's a simple, pleasant hotel in a quiet spot near Coalville centre, with free parking out front. The room was fine, though there's no air con.

There were plenty of restaurants close by, and the place was very quiet. My room felt a bit cold because the window seal was missing. It's handy for Donington Park circuit, though the interior could use an update.

The receptionist was polite and really helpful. They'd only just begun refurbishing the hotel while I was there, so I can't fairly rate it yet. I'd like to return and give it a proper assessment.

The staff were very friendly, and this isn't their fault. The owner really needs to put some money into the place. The website, Google listing, and general adverts should be updated to match the building's current condition. My room was badly dated and parts seemed to be coming apart; there was mould in the bathroom and swollen woodwork. I didn't stop to take photos, I just wanted to get out. The price was reasonable, but other nearby places weren't much dearer, and it wasn't even the cheapest. For only £10 more a night, I booked a nearby hotel that was much nicer.
