Hundith Hill Hotel

We booked two nights but checked out after one. The courtyard room was tired and scruffy, and the breakfast dining room felt soulless, with nothing to look at except the car park. Another scruffy family member served breakfast. The hotel is run by a family, but the owner preferred to sit at the bar talking with his cronies, leaving guests shut out. That felt very unprofessional. They need Alex polizzi to come in and shake them out of their stupor.

After a three-hour drive from Birmingham, we arrived with high expectations and found we’d been given a standard room instead of the luxury double with a mountain view that we had booked. The receptionist was kind and advised us to wait for the manager. He took half an hour to arrive, then tried to convince us there was no booking mistake. Once we showed him the error was on their side, he refused to help and sent us away. We called the agent, who relocated us because the hotel wouldn’t help. We appreciated the receptionist’s kind attitude despite the unpleasant experience with the manager.

Good value overall for an overnight stop after the Xmas party. The room was very comfortable and the evening meal was good, though it lacked extras: no crackers, coffee or petit fours. Breakfast was ok.

I was part of a wedding party and asked why milk had been put on our table when dessert was being served. Someone came over pointing fingers and shouting. She was apparently the manager, and said I’d upset the waitress. I’d only asked a question, and it left me really upset. I asked to speak to the hotel manager, but with her pointing at me, it turned out I was already talking to her. I don’t think hundith hill has any idea about customer service. It’s run by immature people.
